Peko

Never finished further back than second and looks a lot stronger and better proportioned horse this time in. Loved the win yesterday at Sandown with the kick she gave in last 200m and obviously she liked the ride on her back by Brett Prebble who incidentally does not look a day older than when he went to HK years ago. This mare is from a strong winning gamily and from memory Jacquie, Col's wife, bred the mother. Think 1400m is the go for the breed. When they get to 1600m it is a bit of a test. However she certainly looks like she can go on and win a few more. She was beaten by Tin Hat at previous start and he franked the form by winning again yesterday and looks type to win in town again.

Think the boy got himself into a spot of trouble on the mare today. Coming to turn he was boxed in behind horses waiting for a run and same for most of run down straight. By time clear the momentum was with those in front. She is better than that and I would forgive her the run.

Brett Prebble told stewards he did not think she handled the soft going today at Sandown. Could not agree more. She did not long at all happy.
