No luck at all at Sandown today and when King got her to outside she really rattled home. Think the finishing effort would say she can run 1400m and considering she carried 59kgs probably at same track or Pakenham ...seems to like a long straight.
Big surprise...nothing in Stewards Report on her last run. For mine watching the stewards vision of the race which is head on in the straight, she was held up for running soon after entering straight and jock in desperation had switched to outside to get a run. Was shaking hands with those watching race and to finish as close as the horse did was a big run.
Williams rode her like a winner and dictated pace to suit. She did it softly in the end and I think can probably get 1400m. Has held her condition so well and in fact reminds me a lot for that reason with Kazio. Also liked the run of Betty of Grable in same race today. Got to line strongly and for mine appears to have come back a more mature horse and looking for 1600m and further.
Typically honest run against some smart gallopers. The winner is a very lightly raced import and I think seems destined to go places. The runner-up did okay with a big weight and Our Campana kept them busy for a little while. Think the LL runner might be wanting to have a rest because she has done a big job past few months.
Excellent first up run after a spell when second at Pakenham last night. In a line challenging for lead on straightening up, got to lead then fought off a few until the winner came with a burst as she can do. Only my opinion but I think Our Campana is a dead set 1200-1300m horse and on this run can win a few again. Should make into a very good broodmare later being by Bel Esprit out of a More Than Ready mare.
Williams ride on her yesterday at Flemington shows why he is a top jock. Just bided his time when it was time to get going and judged the mare's run to a nicety. Now shown she can handle and run really well at both Flemington and Sandown and this being a Benchmark 84 she probably is looking to step up to Benchmark 90 or open company. Nice moneyspinner and so honest
Thought this was a very soft win. McNeil is riding so well at present and opted not to get into a battle for lead and took the sit and just a matter of getting a run in straight. Looked a bit ominous for a while but when he shifted out and got clear running she responded quickly and so well that McNeil did not have to ride her out because she was going so well. She is now putting some reasonable horses to the sword and can certainly put together another win. Bet the owners love seeing her go around each time. Apart from first two career runs she has been just an absolute model of consistency.
